Cute Bag from an Even Cuter Friend!

I had the Manhattan Pier 1 Christmas party last weekend, and my adorable friend Rachel, who I worked with there, made me the cutest bag! She knows how I'm "green" and I use my reuseable bags all the time, so she made me one!! The cutest part is that it's out of old childrens record covers and there was 1 of Little Hiawatha! My hometown!! Thanks so much Rachel!

After the Bridal Fair

Hi everyone! So I had the PWG (Perfect Wedding Guide) Bridal Fair this past weekend at the Expocentre in Topeka. It was crazy!! But so much fun! I saw so many people and was able to talk to them about me and my business and give them my information, so I finally felt like I was doing all that I could to get my name out there! The outcome was soooo much more than I ever could have asked for! On Saturday I booked 3 weddings, on Sunday 2, and then when I got home I had so many emails and voicemails from other brides wanting more information, that I couldn't believe it! I even had 1 bride change her entire wedding date to book me! That's like the best compliment I've ever gotten! I'd say that I would most definitely do the bridal fair again and that it was more than worth all the time and hardwork I put into getting ready for it. And I owe a lot to my mom for running off copies of things for me, and my sister for helping me all weekend, and my aunt for helping me tie all those little M&M bags! And especially Luke for getting me in to the show in the first place! I know that none of this would've been possible without them! So thanks! I did take some pictures of my booth!

I was so lucky! On Friday, Kody and I were setting up and, Ellen, the coordinator for the show, came up to me and said that the booth next to mine was setup on accident and that it shouldn't be there, so if I wanted the space and have a double booth I could! I think my jaw hit the floor! Double booths were so much more money that single booths! I couldn't believe it! So, of course, I said heck yea!

I think my big sign of my logo was my favorite part!

Of course, I had to have some daisies at my booth!

I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone that helped me out! And thanks to all the brides for booking me for their wedding! I'm so excited to work with you all!

Bridal Fair!

Hi everyone! So I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth, I've just been incredibly busy! We moved to Topeka last weekend, and then Luke and I both started our jobs right away on Monday, so I've been getting settled at my aunt's and working a lot! I'm going to have a booth in a bridal fair this weekend at the Expocenter here in Topeka, and I'm so excited!! My aunt and I went last week and ordered a banner with my logo on it and a ton of business cards, and now I'm working on getting all of my forms printed off and putting together little extra gifts for the brides! I can't wait, I hope that it's a big turning point in my business! Also, in addition to the little gifts I have planned, I'm also going to have 2 give-aways! Here they are:
1. 1/2 price engagement session! This one is only for brides who book me on this weekend for their wedding.

2. 1/2 price family session! This is for anyone that attends the fair!

I'm so excited for it to be here! I'm really looking forward to seeing the other photographers and what special things they pull out for the fair! I probably won't blog the rest of the week because I have so many last minute things to do! Have a great week!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a very safe and happy New Year! Mine was pretty uneventful. We did a lot on Tuesday for my 22nd birthday, so last night was pretty low key. Luke and I just stayed in! We did pack a little bit. We're moving to Topeka this weekend, so there's still a TON to do! I'll be staying with my aunt until at least April and Luke will be at the police academy. So we have big things coming up! I've never really been one to make New Years resolutions, but I thought that this year is going to be a big one! I'm done with school, I'll be putting more time into my business, Luke and I will be finding a place of our own, so why not make a few resolutions/goals, right? Ok here they are:

1. Take a picture everyday and then at the end of the year make an album. It may sound silly, but I have a feeling this is going to be a big year! I have a bridal fair for my business coming up, Luke's starting a new career, we're moving to a new place and getting our own house (hopefully), Luke's sister is pregnant and due the end of May/beginning of June. So I thought of any year to do it, this would be it!

2. Take a walk or jog at least 3 or 4 times a week. Last summer I joined a gym and really did pretty well, but then I got busy with school and graduation, so exercising has been the last thing on my mind. Now I'll have time (I think), so I'll get back to it!

3. Do more to be healthy, so my asthma isn't such an issue. Those of you who know me well, know that my asthma is a pretty serious issue with me. I have allergy and exercise induced asthma so there are tons of triggers for it. So this year I am going to work really hard on getting exercise to make my lungs stronger and working on my stress management to keep that from making it bad. Every other year, for the past 4 years, I've landed in the hospital with complications from my asthma. This year would be the next one, and I'm not going to let it happen!

4. I have tons of goals for my business, but I don't think I'll include them in this one since these are more personal goals. But I am already fulfilling one resolution, because I'm going to be in a bridal fair! Yay! I'm so excited! January 17th-18th, at the Expocentre in Topeka, is the Perfect Wedding Guide's HUGE bridal fair. I'm really nervous, but I can't wait to do it and get my name out there. Now there's just a ton of things that I have to do to get ready for it!

I'll end this incredibly long post with my first photo of the year! Luke and I have been packing all day long and have accumulated quite the stack-o-boxes! I hope everyone has a great New Year!
