Katie & Eric {wedding}

Katie and Eric are married!!! You might remember them from their engagement session I did a few months ago. These two are just absolutely gorgeous, and such great people, that they make my job really really easy! They were both incredibly laid-back on their wedding day, which is always nice! And were just up for whatever! They opted not to see each other before the ceremony, so after we headed outside to the streets of downtown Topeka for some awesome shots. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day!

Their ceremony and reception were both held at the 6th Avenue Ballroom here in Topeka, and it's a really cool location. If you're planning a wedding, definitely check it out! I'd never been there before or even heard about it, so I was excited to have a new spot! There's a really neat little lookout at the back of the room where you can go upstairs and look out and see the whole place. Here's a view from there:

I told the guys where to stand and then they asked how to stand and what to do with their hands, and I said do whatever.... I learned my lesson. But I have to say it's one of my favorite groom/groomsmen pictures ever.

I also have to give a special thanks to Marianna Milne. Marianna was a year ahead of me in high school and is really into photography and has agreed to 2nd shoot with me a little this fall! Yay!!

Michelle & Ben {engagement}

Hey all! Sorry it's been a while since I posted last, but I've had a really crazy week! Last Friday I had a wedding all day (which was fun and is coming soon I promise!), then I drove up to Hiawatha late that night and stayed with my sister and left really early Saturday morning to be in St. Jo, MO for a really fun family shoot. Then I headed back to Hiawatha to hang out for a while before going back to St. Jo for Kody's dad, Max's, wedding reception that I shot. Then I left there to come back to Topeka for a senior shoot Sunday morning! Whew! So I've been feverishly trying to catch up on editing this week!

Here are some of Michelle & Ben, whose engagement shoot I had a couple weeks ago at Lake Perry. The lake is a pretty special place to them. They go and camp and do all those fun lake-y type things. They even live really near the lake. These 2 are so funny! Ben is pretty quiet, and Michelle is just hilarious! They were giggling and laughing the whole time... so cute! Here are some of my faves! Amanda & Eric {engagement}

About a week ago, I met up with Amanda & Eric in Lawrence to take their engagement photos! Mandy is a pharmacy student at KU and so she had the awesome idea to take their pictures on the campus. I've never taken pictures there, let alone really ever been on the KU campus, so I was really excited. These 2 were sooo much fun! They are total goofballs and I think we laughed about 95% of the session. I'm so excited for the wedding this New Years Eve! Enjoy!

Mackenzie {child session}

Here is cutie pie Mackenzie! Mackie's mom, Amber, and I are good friends and it was a lot of fun to go out and snap some shots of Mackie! Normally, she's a big goofball, but this night she was in a serious mood. Enjoy!

Ann & Travis {engagement}

A few weeks ago, I made the 2 hour drive to Ellsworth to meet up with Ann and Travis to take their engagement photos. I used to work with Ann at Pier 1 in Manhattan and was sad when she moved to Denver, so I was really excited to see her! This shoot was so much fun, and Ann and Travis made it a lot easier on me by knowing the exact style they were going for. They wanted more modern poses and shots and basically let me try whatever. We started out in a junkyard and then were in front of a train and then Travis drove us out to some really cool caves and then, of course, I had to find an open area of grass. They're great! I think these photos are some of my favorites to date. I worked really hard on these, and I hope you all love them too!!
