I've known Deron as long as I can remember. We used to play together at the elementary school playground... that's how long I've known him. So when he asked me to take headshots for him, I was really excited! I can't believe he might be a model! But then I'm not too surprised... the guy ain't ugly!

Ann & Travis {wedding}

You all will probably remember Ann & Travis from their engagement photos I posted this past summer and they turned out so well and were so fun to work with that I couldn't wait for their wedding! And it definitely didn't disappoint! They got married in Ellsworth, a teeny little town, and had a very unique wedding. I loved it because there were so many little things that were different from all the other weddings I've shot. Here are some of my favorites from their day! Enjoy!

First some fun details. This shot is for all the men out there who don't understand why it takes women so long to get ready for weddings... look at all that it entails!

Ann's dress was beautiful! Definitely not your traditional wedding dress, but I loved it!

Carla & Mark {wedding}

Carla and Mark got married on August 22nd and the beautiful Assumption Catholic church in downtown Topeka... like right across the street from the Capitol downtown. I had never been in the church before but it was amazing!! It's old and gorgeous and has amazing stained glass windows! I had to get a few shots of just the church...





Now onto photos of the happy couple! Okay this first one isn't exactly of just them but it's one that I snapped during the ceremony that I love! I wasn't allowed to point my flash toward the front of the church, and older churches don't have the best lighting, so it made my job interesting. But I made it work!

Philip {senior}

I headed to teeny little Corning, KS a few weeks ago to take Philip's senior photos. He's not to into having his picture taken, so it was a quick shoot! But he did great! I am taking the photos at his sister, Rachel's, wedding next April and you'll probably see her engagement pictures on here later this fall! Enjoy!

Yay I Learned Something Today!

Hey! So I've been annoyed with this blog because I haven't been able to figure out on my own how to make my photos larger. Well stubborn me finally asked for help! Yay! So expect BIGGER pictures from now on! No more squinting! Hallelujah! Maybe someday if I have some spare time (hahahahaha) I'll go back to old posts and make those pictures bigger.... don't hold your breath though. Later!

Lauren Clark Brainwash

So my idol, Lauren Clark, is giving away one of her brainwashes!! This is a really awesome opportunity where you go spend a day with her and basically pick her brain and come back home a way better photographer! I would totally just pass out if I ever got to meet her, let alone spend a day with her. So for her contest I had to take a picture of me with the words Brainwash Me and then link it to her blog. So here goes nothin'! I hope I win!!!!!!!

Heather & Kory {wedding}

Okay so I'm totally excited about this post! A few weeks ago I got to shoot Heather & Kory's wedding at the beautiful Circle S Ranch. I had looked at the website for the ranch before the wedding and was expecting an amazingly beautiful setting, but it totally exceeded my expectations! The ranch is located north of Lawrence out in the middle of nowhere, basically. There's a gigantic cabin (it's 3 stories and has a 2 story great room) that has 22 guest rooms, each with it's own theme. So cute! Then there are the grounds.... oh my goodness! The whole place is huge! And has cattle and buffalo! Seriously, go to the website and then book a room, it's amazing. Here's a shot of the lodge:

Ok, back to the wedding. This couple was so much fun and they had a really great wedding party that was up for anything! I had a really hard time figuring out which shots to post on here. My list started with 28 photos and I was able to narrow it down to 15. Ah! Here are some fun details:

Heather is a vet med student at KSU and Kory is a cattle rancher, so having the buffalo in this photo seemed appropriate!
