I am Thankful for family, friends, and most importantly God for bringing all us together. The holidays used to bring so much agony and regrets. Especially since my late husband died and just trying to make something important for my boys. Last year God brought amazing new friends into my life and Corey with his family who have embrace the boys and I. This year we are extremely grateful to Ella Grace and her birth and celebrating her first holidays and our first holidays as new family. All of this would be impossible without the grace that God has continualy given to us and nice to remember and celebrate it this Holiday season.

I like everything about the holiday season. The hustle and bustle of the shopping centers, the music, food, decorations. My favorite thing about the holiday is being with those who you love the most. Now that I'm a mommy, Christmas means something totally different to me than it did 10 years ago. I love being able to teach Lilly about Christmas and Thanksgiving and watch the magic of the holidays through her eyes.

I LOVE the holidays, but the thing I have always looked forward to every year is Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. Every Christmas Eve, all the aunts, uncles, and cousins go over there for dinner. It is very much a tradition, and we all know exactly what to expect every single year. First, we all stare at the tree with the gobs of presents underneath. Then, we eat dinner. After dinner we sing Christmas carols in the living room, my dad playing the guitar. Then my Grandpa reads the story of Jesus birth while my Grandma cries (yes, every year.) We all then open presents in a frenzy, yelling thank you's, talking loudly over each other, etc. It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without an ice cream birthday cake, and everyone singing "happy birthday" to Jesus. The night ends with more food (tons of snacks: bubble bread, queso, wassail, crackers and cheese, etc.) and more talking. I have always looked forward to this evening and this year it means even more to me to be able to come together and see my entire family, as I now live 20 hours away. This will also be my son's first Christmas.

I LOVE the holidays!! Getting together with family, friends and staying home while its snowing like mad outside! Decorating and putting up the tree and now keeping my 2 year old away from it..its all great fun to me! Baking and having all the Christmas candies and cookies is probably the best part! I so would love a photo shoot with you Linnie! Thanks! Miranda Young
ReplyDeleteHolidays are certainly my favorite time of year and this year they will certainly be much more special as I share them with my new little girl. Both Heath's family and my family have our own little traditions and I am looking forward to starting our own traditions with Kenzie. One of the many things I cherish during the holiday season is the time we get to spend with family. Creating new memories and reliving past memories...it's such a great time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linnie! I enjoy looking at your blog! You do super work!

I LOVE most everything the holidays! The smells of baking home goods makes me feel at ease. Wrapping presents and the whole time just so excited to see the faces of the ppl who are going to open them! The music is calming for me and just makes me smile. I love driving around looking at the beautiful lights on houses to pick my favorite one. Something about christmas just is so very exciting for me each and every year.

My favorite part of the holidays is seeing my ex-boyfriend's family. He died three years ago. I went through a really rough period in my life and his family was more than helpful to me. They got me through that rough time. I'm so grateful that they have made me a part of their family even if the man that connected me to them is no longer here. I'm always invited to their Thanksgiving every year and each time it gets a easier to see them without him, but at the same time that's when I feel his prescence the most.

The holiday is an amazing time that can be so busy with the parties, programs and just trying to shop. Of all things involved with Christmas I enjoy going to church and watching the children perform the story of Jesus birth. The music centered around this story reminds me why I am such a lucky person to have the Lord in my life. With the Lord in my life I am able to handle anything. This time of year puts everything back into perspective tor me.

My favorite part of the holidays would have to be New Years. It's like being able to start over fresh with new goals and a new attitude! I love going to my mom's best friends, Ken and Michelle’s house in Kansas City! We always sit around and eat Michelle's famous guacamole dip and play catch phrase and their daughter Jillian and I drink sparkling grape juice out of fancy cups. Then at about 12:50am we always go outside and bring Ken's drum set and bang as loud as we can and have a firework war with their neighbors. It's our turn to win this year! This year I'm bringing my boyfriend, Spencer. My grandma passed away this year and it’s just not going to be the same without her-so this tradition is something my mom and I have both been looking forward to. I can't wait to spend the holidays with the ones I love. :)

My favorite part of the holidays is the feelings you have-whether that be the love when surrounded by family or the joy when you see a child seeing Santa for the first time. It really is just a magical time!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the new photos Linnie, you are so talented!

My favorite part of the holidays is waking up to two wonderful, beautiful children smiling on Christmas morning and ripping open those presents they have been waiting for. Nothing is better then seeing their smiling faces the minute they discover they got the toy they have been wanting. Even though Christmas means being with all of your family, and everyone is always important this time of the year, it never fails watching my kids be so happy. Thats what I live for. Another thing that makes me love this time of the year is all the 'snuggle' time I get to have with them. Nothing gets better then wrapping a warm blanket over you, sitting on the couch, watching a movie, eating cookies, snuggling and laughing with two my little wiggle worms. Just wait till you and Luke have kids Linnie, those will be the moments you cherish forever. :-)

Family and friends. That is what I think about over the holiday season, and what I look forward to the most. All the Christmas parties and get-togethers; just sharing all the warm wishes that come to everyone's minds this time of year. Decorating our home with the warm glow from the lights. Sharing the good-old TV specials with Parker, and, in a few years, with Piper. It is true that kids add so much to Christmas, and I look forward to it every year.

My favorite part of the holidays is, of course, family and friends. I am especially excited this year, because Allera finally "knows" what Christmas is, and seems to be just as excited as we are! Nothing beats a cold winter day, and filling the house with good scents from baking holiday goods. I'm also a total sucker for Christmas music, and am trying to turn Allera into one also. We've already started listening to some in the afternoons!

There isn't anything I don't like about the holidays.... well, maybe eating too much food. LOL But anyway the holidays are always special as I enjoy the shopping, the music, putting up the tree, wrapping all the gifts and getting together with friends and family. This year will be even better as I have another grandchild to spoil. I love watching the little kids open up their gifts and their eyes get big & bright!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linnie! And have a very Merry Christmas with Luke & your family!
